Evaluation and Treatment for Children with Autism or Asperger’s Syndrome
Children with autism or Asperger’s Syndrome often have difficulty forging relationships and interacting with others, but Georgia Regents Medical Center offers a behavior-modification program that can improve these skills. Patients must undergo an initial assessment by an Georgia Regents Medical Center psychiatrists, then be internally referred for admittance. Directed by a psychiatrist who specializes in autism, the social skills program offers:
- Outpatient or inpatient psychiatric assessment of autism
- Group therapy focusing on behavior modification and socialization skills
- Medical management of autism and Asperger’s Syndrome
