Not all breast lumps indicate cancer, according to the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). The most common lumps are fibroadenomas and fibrocystic breast lumps. Fibroadenomas are smooth and round. A cyst is a fluid-filled sac that often gets bigger and then smaller during different times in a woman's menstrual cycle.
