Georgia Regents Medical Center’s Movement Disorders/Parkinson’s Disease Center of Excellence delivers coordinated, multidisciplinary care from one central location for movement disorder patients in Georgia, South Carolina and throughout the Southeast.

As a Center of Excellence designated by the National Parkinson’s Foundation, Inc., our Georgia Regents Medical Center Movement Disorders/Parkinson’s Disease Center offers exceptional clinical diagnosis, treatment, and care not only for Parkinson’s disease, but also for many other movement disorders, including dystonia, essential tremor, Huntington’s disease, and Tourette’s syndrome.

Our services include:

  • Advanced treatment options, including Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) for tremors and other symptoms of Parkinson’s disease
  • Coordinated care by a team of physician specialists that includes neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists and neuroradiologists
  • Neuropsychological evaluations
  • Radiosurgery at the Georgia Regents Medical Center Gamma Knife Center, using targeted radiation to treat movement disorders
  • Botulinum Toxin (BoTox) injections and other medications to control tremors and other symptoms
  • Evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders in Parkinson’s disease or parkinsonism
  • Physical, occupational and speech therapy
  • A movement disorders support group for patients and families
  • Access to cutting-edge research and clinical trials in hopes of improving the quality of life for our patients
