Hundreds of MCGHealth employees gathered for a flag-raising ceremony in celebration of MCGHealth being named one of America’s top 100 hospitals. MCGHealth was recently named one of 15 major teaching hospitals - and the only one in Georgia - to make the list of the 2007 Thomson 100 Top Hospitals. MCGHealth also became the only health system in Georgia named a 2008 Community Value Index Top 100 Hospital. Additionally, the academic medical center is designated as a Five-Star Hospital, which indicates that MCGHealth achieved scores within the top 20 percent. Special MCGHealth 2007 Thomson 100 Top Hospital Flags were raised to celebrate these achievements. Assisting in raising the commemorative flags are (left to right) Hospital Security Officer Charles Bungy; President and CEO Don Snell; Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer Sandra McVicker; Julia Sharpton, Pharmacy; Judy Tyler, Social Work; Jo Cobb, Central Distribution; and Darrell Stone, Desk Operations.
