Traveling With the Pill

Pay attention to the time you take your birth-control pills when you travel to a different time zone, say researchers at West Virginia University. If you live on the East Coast, for instance, and are visiting the West Coast, make sure you take your pills three hours before you normally would at home. (If you normally take your pills at 10 p.m. each day, take them at 7 p.m. West Coast time, which is the same as 10 p.m. East Coast time.) The pills may not suppress ovulation if you go longer than 24 hours between doses.
