Cheese makes a healthful snack, but only if you choose the right cheese. Most cheese is high in fat. The best choices of cheese for snacking and eating, nutrition experts say, are those that are nonfat, including nonfat cottage cheese and nonfat cream cheese. Check the labels on low-fat cheeses, such as part-skim mozzarella, part-skim ricotta and low-fat cottage cheese. These may still have a significant amount of fat.
