Confusion Over Vaccines

Misconceptions about vaccines abound. Twenty-five percent of American parents mistakenly believe that too many immunizations could weaken their children's immune systems, according to a survey published in the journal Pediatrics. As a result, some parents withhold immunizations from their children, needlessly placing their youngsters and communities at risk for outbreaks of measles, whooping cough, polio and other infectious diseases.
