A Walk or a Stroll?

If you walk for fitness, how fast should you go? It depends on your fitness goals. Pick up the pace to lose weight, and try increasing your time to 45 to 60 minutes per day, five days a week, according to the Cooper Wellness Program in Dallas. For general health, a 30-minute walk per day at a moderate to brisk pace is sufficient. To beat stress, make it more of a stroll, but go for at least 30 minutes. Check with your doctor before beginning an exercise program.
