Dr. Simon Sebastian, Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior at Georgia Regents University received his medical education at St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore, India. He completed his psychiatry residency at the Philadelphia Psychiatric Center and was on the faculty of Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport before moving to Augusta. As a faculty member of GRU, he was the Medical Director of Georgia Regional State Hospital for nine years. Since then he has been at the outpatient clinic at GRHealth and is currently the Director of the Schizophrenia and Mood Disorder Program and the Mental Health/Mental Retardation Clinic. He is Board Certified in General and Forensic Psychiatry. His research interests include Schizophrenia, Mood Disorders and managing the psychiatric problems of developmentally challenged individuals. He has extensive experience in Disability Determination for Social Security, Veterans and Independent Medical Evaluations.
