Dr. Achih Chen joined the Georgia Regents University Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery as Assistant Professor and Director of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in July 2003.
Dr. Chen attended college at the University of Iowa, where he graduated Phi Eta Sigma and with high distinction in physics with a minor in mathematics. He received his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine, completed his surgical internship at Michigan State University, and returned to the University of Iowa to complete his Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery training. During his residency he also completed an NIH-sponsored research fellowship studying the genetic basis of hearing loss. Following residency training, he completed a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the UCLA-affiliated Lasky Clinic in Beverly Hills.
Dr. Chen has co-authored several book chapters and more than a dozen peer-reviewed journal articles. He has also been invited to present his research at numerous national meetings. He is a member of several medical societies including the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
