Testicular cancer is cancer that begins in one of the two egg-shaped male sex glands. These are called the testicles. They hang below the penis in a sac called the scrotum. Each testicle is slightly smaller than a golf ball. The testicles make several hormones. The main hormone is testosterone. The testicles also make sperm.

Testicular cancer is not that common. But it is the cancer found most often in men between the ages of 20 and 35.

The good news is testicular cancer is usually very treatable. It has a cure rate of about 99 percent when found early, and over 70 percent even when it is already at an advanced stage. Men with testicular cancer now have more treatment choices than ever before. Doctors keep finding ways to make the treatments for testicular cancer even better. They also keep finding ways to help men with testicular cancer live better lives.
