Creative Writing Program

This program is led by Anna Harris, English Studies Lecturer and Dr. Jared Hegwood, Instructor of English from Georgia Regents Univeristy Summerville campus. 

Second and fourth Wednesday of each month
Children's Hospital of Georgia Resource Library (BT-1801)
11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

  • The purpose of the Write to Heal creative writing program is to:
  • Encourage healthy self-expression and other strategies for coping with hospitalization
  • Help patients, their family members and caregivers to process and work through experiences associated with hospitilization
  • Facilitate positive self-esteem and positive body image
  • Promote a sense of independence and feelings of control
  • Provide peer interaction and sense of community within the hospital environment
  • Promote problem-solving skills
