The Georgia Health Sciences Weight Loss Center offers educational seminars for anyone interested in learning more about morbid obesity and weight loss surgery.
Educating yourself about weight loss surgery options, risks and benefits of surgery, and expectations of weight loss surgery programs are all key for you to have a successful experience and long-term success.
These seminars give you the opportunity to learn about your disease, the options for treatment, and the benefits and risk associated with surgery. Equally important, it gives you the chance to meet and talk with the people who will be providing your care and support you during your weight loss journey.
Another key element to your success is your support structure (family, friends). It is equally important for them to learn about the journey you are thinking of going on and the role they may play in your success. For that reason, we encourage you to bring the members of your support structure to the information seminars with you.
These seminars will help you become an educated health care consumer so you can make more informed decisions about your health and wellbeing.
