How We Compare

At Georgia Regents Medical Center, we know you have choices when deciding which hospital is best for you. We want you to be comfortable in making informed choices, which is why we are committed to providing you with information about the treatment we provide.

Clinical Quality Reports

Health care clinical outcomes has been thought of as carefully guarded information that took a "health care professional" to interpret. Today, however, more and more patients are educating themselves via the internet before choosing a hospital. Organizations such as HealthGrades, HospitalCompare and the Georgia Hospital Association's Quality Check website help compare hospitals in terms understandable to the layperson.

As the area's only academic medical center, Georgia Regents Medical Center offers more specialty care than other area hospitals. That means we treat the sickest of the sick, as well as rare and complicated diseases and conditions. But at Georgia Regents Medical Center, we also understand that today's health care consumer is a sophisticated comparison shopper. Because you care about value, safety and quality care, we are committed to providing the kind of health care experience you want and deserve. That's why we provide you with the best quality information to help you make informed health care choices. We encourage you to visit any of the sites listed above to see how we compare.

Pricing Information

As more and more insurance plans increase their premiums and deductibles, and as health care savings accounts become more common, it's not surprising that patients are asking questions about their care options and the price of their care. At Georgia Regents Medical Center, we understand the importance price plays in your health care decisions. That's why we are proud to be the only hospital in Georgia named to the Community Value Top Index Top 100 hospitals list for 2007. The annual listing identifies the top hospitals nationally in terms of value to the community, which is defined as financial strength, reinvestment, cost of care and pricing.

To maintain high levels of service, Medical Center regularly evaluates our average charges to ensure they are competitive in the marketplace. We accept all major insurance providers, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia, United Healthcare, CIGNA, Aetna, Great West Health Care and others in addition to Medicare and Medicaid.
