James Mumford

Administrative Director of Pediatrics

James (Jim) Mumford, MHSA, FACHE, joined MCG Health, Inc. in 2008 as Administrative Director of Pediatrics in Ambulatory and Network Services. He is currently co-managing the inpatient pediatric operations with Kim Basso and managing outpatient operations.

Before joining Georgia Regents Medical Center, Mumford served as the hospital administrator and chief administrative officer of Tod Children’s Hospital and physician practices at Forum Health - Western Reserve Care System in Youngstown, Ohio. Prior to that, he served as corporate director at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville and as administrator of P.T. Services, Inc./Select Medical Corporation in Tiffin, Ohio.

He earned a master’s degree in health services administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati and graduated cum laude from St. Meinrad College in St. Meinrad, Ind., with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Arts & Sciences. Mumford also earned an AA in business management from National College in Colorado Springs, Colo., and a Certificate in Medical Technology from Community College of the Air Force at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas.

He is a Board Member for YMCA Marshall Branch, healthcare management instructor, and is a recipient of the Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal and the Air Force Inspector General’s Medical Service Award.
