What is BMI?
The body mass index (BMI) is the most commonly used measure of body fat. It is a number that tells you if your weight is too much for your height. Use the BMI calculator on the right to find out your BMI based on current guidelines from the National Institutes of Health.

What does BMI mean?
If your are overweight, obese or morbidly obese, your excess weight can affect your health, increasing your risk for stroke, diabetes, heart disease, liver disease, lung disease, arthritis, infertility, certain cancers, other medical problems and death at a younger age.
