Kohl’s recently donated $31,840 to the Georgia Health Sciences Children’s Medical Center to fund community educational events, including an asthma awareness event in May at the department store in Evans. About 75 CSRA children were screened for asthma and provided take-home asthma kits at the event thanks to the funding from the Kohl’s Cares for Kids program. Asthma, a chronic lung illness, affects about 226,000 children in Georgia. Accepting the donation are (back row, from right) Clifton Dennis and Jennifer Anderson, both in Respiratory Therapy at Georgia Health Sciences, and representing Kohl’s is (back row, center) Store Manager Regina Ripkey, who is surrounded by several Kohl’s community support volunteers.
