Black History Month

Forced by poverty to work his way through Howard University Medical School as a janitor, Dr. Thomas W. Josey’s determination helped him become a prominent physician and community leader. He practiced medicine from 1909 to 1957. He was active in many charities and civic groups, for which he was an incomparable fund raiser. In 1964, the T. W. Josey High School was named in his honor.
