Weight Loss Surgery Patient Education Seminars & Support Groups
The Georgia Regents Weight Loss Center offers educational seminars for anyone interested in learning more about morbid obesity and weight loss surgery options. Educating yourself about weight loss surgery options, risks and benefits of surgery, and expectations of weight loss surgery programs are all key for you to have a successful experience and long-term success.
Our weight loss seminars give you the opportunity to learn about options for treatment. Most importantly, it gives you the chance to meet and talk with the people who will be providing your care and support during your weight loss journey.
Another key element to your success is your support structure of family and friends. It is important for them to learn about the journey you are thinking of going on and the role they may play in your success. For that reason, we encourage you to bring the members of your support structure to the information seminars with you.
Following your attendance at a free weight loss surgery seminar, our bariatric nurse coordinator will help you schedule a follow-up appointment at the weight loss center to begin your journey.
Seminars take place at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday each month. Seminars on the second Tuesday will be held at the Columbia County Library, 7022 Evans Town Center Blvd., Evans, GA and seminars on the fourth Tuesday will be at the Georgia Regents Medical Office Building, 1447 Harper Street, 4th floor, Augusta, GA.
